A Day in the Life of Radical Islam
Some Lebanese can see through Hizbullah's bullshit:
Lebanese Christian leader slams Hezbollah at rally for war against Israel
U.N. expert: Iraq torture may be worse
60 more Taliban extremists killed in Afghanistan push
Dying Nun Forgave Her Killers
Experts see lower threat from al-Qaida (those frightening videos may have been just that — designed to frighten the West and inspire followers — with little real punch behind them)
Somalia's Islamists seize seaport
In the past three months, Israeli incursions to stop rocket fire and find smuggling tunnels have killed more than 200 Palestinians, most of them militants
Nazi Roots of Modern Radical Islam

Christians face jail for giving treats to children of Muslims (About 10,000 Christians were killed in Indonesia between 1998 and 2003 and about 1,000 churches were burnt down by Muslim mobs, according to campaigners. Although religious conflict has eased in recent years campaigners say that about 100 churches have been closed down in the past five years in West Java.)
You've got to be kidding me (from the article above "Christians face jail..."):
"Christians helping in Aceh after the Boxing Day tsunami were asked to leave for making Muslims uncomfortable"

From the article I posted title "Nazi Roots of Modern Radical Islam"
"However, after over 700 years of peaceful coexistence, the true start of the Arab-Israeli conflict can be dated to 1920 and the rise of one man, Haj Amin Muhammad Al Husseini, the grand mufti of Jerusalem. As grand mufti, al Husseini presided as the Imam of the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, the highest Muslim authority in the British mandate.
History shows Al Husseini to be a brutal man with aspirations to rule a pan-Arabic empire in the Middle East. He rose to prominence by actively eliminating those Jews and Arabs he considered a threat to his control of Jerusalem's Arab population, and he heavily utilized anti-Jewish propaganda to polarize the two communities.
In 1920 and again in 1929, Al Husseini incited anti-Jewish riots by claiming the Jews were plotting to destroy the Al Asqa mosque. The riots resulted in the massacre of hundreds of Jewish civilians and a virtual end to the Jewish presence in Hebron.
The 1936 Arab revolt against the British is believed to have been at least partially funded by Nazi Adolf Eichmann, and Al Husseini again ordered armed Arab militias to massacre Jewish citizens."

Bernard Lewis and the Myths of Islam
Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West, also called Obsession, is a 2005 American documentary movie about Islamist teachings and goals that uses extensive Arab and Iranian television footage. It compares the threat of Islamism with that of Nazism before World War II. It is the sequel to the documentary Relentless:The Struggle for Peace in Israel.
Obsession examines the origins of contemporary radical Islam and traces it back to the alliance between Islamists and the Nazi Party during World War II, specifically the relationship of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem with Adolf Hitler as an inspiration for radical Islamic movements in the Middle East today.
OBSESSION
Amen.
concerns the links between the Vatican and Nazi Germany. The central character is Kurt Gerstein, a member of the Institute for Hygiene of the Waffen-SS, horrified by what he sees in the death camps. Gerstein attempts to notify Pope Pius XII, but is appalled by the lack of response he gets from the Catholic hierarchy. The only person moved is Riccardo Fontana, a young Jesuit priest.
While the character of Kurt Gerstein is historical, the plot is not (most noticeably, the character of the young priest).
In addition to the criticism that had already been raised about The Deputy for its portrayal of the role of the Catholic Church during the Holocaust, the film created controversy in Catholic circles by its poster representing a mix of a Christian cross and a swastika.
AMEN
ETL, thanks for the links.
There's a big difference between The Vatican in WWII and Al Husseini's relationship with the Nazis.
The criticism of the Pope I believe is that he did not do enough to save the Jews of Europe from the Holocaust. The Vatican argues that Pius XII used quiet persuasion and back channels to save the lives of thousands of Jews.

The Nazis provided Al Husseini with luxurious accommodations in Berlin and a monthly stipend in excess of $10,000. In return, he regularly appeared on German radio touting the Jews as the "most fierce enemies of Muslims," and implored an adoption of the Nazi "final solution" by Arabs. After the Nazi defeat at El Alamein in 1942, Al Husseini broadcast radio messages on Radio Berlin calling for continued Arabic resistance to Allied forces. In time, he came to be known as the "Fuhrer's Mufti" and the "Arab Fuhrer."

BERLIN (Reuters) - German authorities issued an arrest warrant on Saturday for a Syrian suspect in a failed plot to detonate bombs on German trains last month.
A spokesman for the Federal Prosecutors Office said a Syrian man taken into temporary custody on Friday in the city of Konstanz was questioned by a custodial judge for several hours before the warrant was issued.
The prosecutors office said the 23-year-old, a student in Konstanz identified as Fadi A.S., was believed to have done Internet research with other suspects on how to build a bomb like the two suitcase devices that failed to explode.
Fadi A.S. is also believed to have helped others involved in the foiled attack flee through Turkey and Syria to Lebanon.

A Lebanese police officer involved in the investigation of a former prime minister's slaying was critically wounded Tuesday in southern Lebanon in an apparent assassination attempt, security officials said.
Lt. Col. Samir Shehade was critically injured when a bomb went off near his car in the village of Rmaile near the southern port city of Sidon. It was not clear whether the bomb was placed under or near his car, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the press.
Al-Arabiya TV station said Shehade had been involved in the arrest in August last year of four pro-Syrian Lebanese generals in Lebanon. The four were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the February 2005 assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri.

A blogger who converted from Islam to Christianity:

"I knew all along that the decision that I have made—converting to Christianity from Islam—would have undesirable consequences. I knew the path I chose wasn’t a walk in the park."
Islam seeks to subjugate all to the rule of its geopolitical ideology cloaked in religion. Because Islam is designated a religion, it is a greater threat than Communism and Nazism were. I fear that our leaders do not understand the severity of the threat.
Oh, and thank you for linking to the essays by Avenging Apostate. He lives under unbearable conditions--citizen of a Muslim nation but a Christian.
You don't have to be part of the army, military, or reserves to be targeted by "the bad guy". You can simply write about it, have an opionion or say the wrong thing in front of the wrong people, and get blown up.
Its sad.
Ever think about what makes a terrorist? Is fighting and bombs, and army's the answer?
Mahamta Gandhi believed in peaceful war. Oxymoron - but was very powerful.
There is always a root cause - a reason that a terrorist becomes a terrorist. The individual may hide their reasons behind a veil named religion, but there is usually a reason that a terrorist is born. Something, somwehere failed them.
Although Bush uses terrorism in his continued fight today with the middle east, ever think about where and how this really started?
Bush took on a stance, got involved for power and money and then brought the rest on himself. 9/11 was a product of what he started. An answer back from those who did not like what he started.
Today, he justifies our troops being in the east with the excuse of terrorism - but the birth of terrorism had a lot to do with him.
Power and money can corrupt any mind. Be it the president, or an oridinary person on the street.

As I have always said, and stated clearly in my book, The Dawning of a New Dark Age, ISLAM is the problem. Not Islamic terrorism (which in any case is the jihad), or Islamism (which in any case is the fundamentalist form of Islam), but Islam itself. It is the greatest threat to face the world since Nazism and communism, and is actually a greater threat because it is not an 'ism' but a so-called religion. As Always said, and as I have always said, Islam is a geopolitical ideology. And it's clothed in a deity. As I always say: Islam is 90% politics and 10% spirituality.
The great worry is this: We have allowed too many into the West. They will destroy our way of life. Nobody should make any mistake about that. The process has already begun.

Always On Watch, thanks for dropping by. You said "because Islam is designated a religion, it is a greater threat than Communism and Nazism"...you may be right.
Anon 5:07 PM: you've got it mixed up. The radical Muslims are using Bush and US foreign policies as a "veil"; Bush and US foreign policies are not the cause of terrorism but the excuse to "rally the troops."
The root cause of terrorism is certain groups'/individuals' perverted interpretation of Islam and world views. They would be the same if the US was the weakest country in the world...they would just find another "excuse" (ie "veil")
"Years ago, I was in my Islamic Studies class in Pakistan, a compulsory subject in all schools in that nation. One day, the teacher was telling us about the reward for doing good and the punishment for doing bad. After teaching us how being good could benefit Muslims, he told us a very interesting thing—namely, he said that while Muslims are rewarded beautifully when they do good, it is counted as sin for non Muslims even if they’re doing good, because they’re not Muslims, and hence, their good works don’t count.
I don’t know how true the claim of their good works being counted as sin is, but what I do know is that Islam teaches that no matter how good the non Muslims are, they’re going to hell anyway."

ATHENS, Greece (CNN) -- Greek police on Saturday retrieved one of the most sacred symbols of Greece, a 700-year-old icon of the Virgin Mary that was stolen from a remote monastery in a stunning robbery more than a month ago.

I stated that terrorism has a root cause just as any problem does. People are not born terrorists, but are made because the system fails them, or someone fails them.
I still believe fighting is not the answer.
The consistent loss of lives continues on a daily basis hurts me.
I wish it would stop but know that it won't. Its being going on for years, and will continue for the many years to come. There will be no winner.

Mark,I agree with you that there's a threat from radical Islam but I don't want the West to become as oppressive and intolerant as many in the East have become.
When you say "We have allowed too many into the West" I am reminded of all the articles I've read and all the videos that I've watched where Islamic religious and political leaders yell "We have too many Christians and Jews in our lands. There are too many wealthy Christians and Jews in our lands. They must leave."
In Iran, Christian store and factory owners must have a Christian Cross clearly visible in the window. Do we make Muslims in Canada and the US put up a Crescent in the window as well? The Nazis had Jews wear a yellow Star of David and put up a Star of David on the windows of their shops...
Let's improve our screening processes but there is a reason why millions of Muslims are lining up to become Canadians and Americans...they see the failure of Islamic-controlled life.
Anon 5:26 PM, yes I could see the point you were trying to make. The point I was trying to make is that "the root cause" of terrorism is a violent interpretation of the Koran and a perverted world view, where "killing in the name of Allah" is ok...
>>
Anon 5:26 PM, you said "fighting is not the answer"
Unfortunately, based on the world's history...it seems that you are wrong and that fighting indeed IS the answer. If you think that NOT fighting is the solution to a problem, why not ask any of the following what they think of that:
Winston Churchill
Napolean
FDR
Soviet generals during the Nazi invasion
The Viet Cong
Northern soldiers during the American Civil War
Southern soldiers during the American Civil War
Canadian & British soldiers during the US invasion of Canada in 1812
The 300 Spartans
Indian army defending against Alexander The Great's army
The Greek resistance during the Nazi occupation of Greece
Isreal after 8 of their soldiers were murdered by Hizbullah and another 2 were kidnapped.
NATO soldiers fighting the Taliban and drug lords in Afghanistan.
Soldiers and citizens during the American Revolutionary War
Participants in the Spanish Civil War
Participants in the Greek Civil War
Everyone living unwillingly under Turkish Ottoman Rule 1299 - 1924
(there's more...remind me later to add to the list)
I have just recenty read about Muhammad Al Husseini, in the book 'The Case For Israel', by Dershowitz.
I am pro-Israel, but also believe the Palestians deserve their own state.
Anon- war is nessesary to counteract Forces that want to rule the world. If were not for America's intervention in WW ll for one, things would be very different today.
GREAT historical research Cyprus.
take care
FTGF!
>>
FTGF, thanks buddy.
Yes the Palestinians certainly deserve their own state. Sometimes it seems that we in the West care more about that than their own Arab brethren do.
And for sure there are times that war is necessary. The Allies NOT fighting in WWII...the Greeks NOT fighting against the Persian Empire...yes, agreed - the world would be a far different place today.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight...is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
-- John Stuart Mill
RE: Anon 5:26 PM, yes I could see the point you were trying to make. The point I was trying to make is that "the root cause" of terrorism is a violent interpretation of the Koran and a perverted world view, where "killing in the name of Allah" is ok...
--- That was my point. The excuse is that they are killin in the name of Allah. I believe there is an even more deeper cause.
War is just a human reaction.
leave the political jargon aside, there are so many humans in our own world...that just cannot get along.
We choose who to talk to, and choose who is not "worthy of us". We fight if we lose control over our own situations. We fight about petty things that really don't amount to anything.
Fighting is a human reaction - and sometimes used unjustly.
The power of words, human kindness, and strength of conviction are just as strong a weapon as war.
But power and money - thats really what this is all about.

Anon 12:04 AM said "The excuse is that they are killin in the name of Allah. I believe there is an even more deeper cause."
Are you saying you challenge these Muslims and are saying they are not true Muslims? Are you saying they don't really believe in the words of the Koran that they are reading? I think they would have an AK-47 bullet with your name on it if you said that do them, what do you think?
They are telling us every day that those who oppose conversion to Islam must die by the sword (or AK-47). Can you tell us what the "deeper cause" is? Why would they lie to us when they say "those who oppose conversion to Islam must die by the sword", when they say "Islam will cover the globe", when they say "Kill Christians" and "God Bless Hitler" ?
"deeper cause" ??
The thing about radical Islamists is that they mean what they say.
You don't have to sit at home wondering what the "deeper cause" is and you won't be able to "reason" with them and "talk it out" when they take you hostage...

Later we'll do it our way"

I am not suggesting that at all. But we have a massive struggle ahead. All reasonable means should be on the table, and up for discussion.
Let's improve our screening processes but there is a reason why millions of Muslims are lining up to become Canadians and Americans...they see the failure of Islamic-controlled life.
Yes and no. The problem is that they always want to bring their culture with them and they see it as their duty to convert the infidel Westerners to their side. They are not content to come and enjoy our free way of life. That's the problem. The Islamization of non-Muslims lands is always their priority.
>>
Mark I can only speak from experience.
My muslim arab friends want to bring their culture as you say, yes, but so do my Greek, British and German friends. Nothing wrong with that as Canada believes in pluralism and multiculturalism.
You said: "They are not content to come and enjoy our free way of life. That's the problem. The Islamization of non-Muslims lands is always their priority."
I can only speak about our experiences here in Canada. No one is trying to "Islamize" me or my family and friends. Those muslims who tried to push through Sharia law in Ontario were defeated.
We have a separation of Church and State here in Canada. We will continue to fight for that and for all our Canadian values.
